How does it work?
First, a little goes a long way. It is thick and coating, so you only need to use a little to benefit from this product. As long as your hair follicles are not completely dead (as found in some male-pattern baldness/certain types of alopecia, etc.), it may be of help.
It also contains botanicals that can help soften and condition your hair to prevent breakage, so that you keep more of your length. You can also use this as a hot oil treatment. It contains pure, golden jojoba oil, castor oil, castor jelly, and coconut oil, along with 26 other ingredients such as essential oils and herbs for hair growth from all over the world (including exotic Indian amla, black seed oil, burdock root, stinging nettle, to promote healthy, soft, and conditioned hair).
**Due to Castor Jelly's heaviness, this product is not suitable for low-porosity hair. This formula is best for use on darker hair, as some of the ingredients can tint lighter hair, so if you have light hair, please try another one of our oils that do not contain rosemary instead.**
Since many people use WAY too much heat when heat styling, this product is not recommended for use with extreme heat styling.

Texture: This product has a texture similar to petroleum jelly.
Look: Beige/light yellow; color may vary from batch to batch. The herbs/botanicals may be visible throughout.
Scent: Characteristic of Castor Oil, minty, herbaceous, and camphor-like.

What is the difference between this and your Super Concentrated formula?: This was designed to be more affordable, while still containing the same elements as the Herbogen Super Concentrated Jelly. This is less concentrated, which makes the price more affordable.
MELT WARNING- Salves, Hairdressings, Butters and other semi-solid to solid products are subject to melting when exposed to temperatures above 72 degrees. Depending on the season/temperature, this product may melt in transit to you. The product may still be fine to use, it just might lose its texture. In most cases, refrigeration or freezing for about 15-30 minutes may be sufficient to re-solidify it.
Despite our best efforts, there is no way for us to prevent melting unless maybe the items are shipped refrigerated overnight, which would cost approximately $30 extra in shipping.
To avoid melting and disappointment, please be mindful of the temperature where you are having this item shipped as we cannot control temperatures inside postal vehicles or inside your mailbox or wherever else your package may be delivered. For best results, you will want to avoid this product sitting outside of a climate-controlled environment (i.e.: inside a mailbox) for too long.

To Use:
You simply apply a pea-sized amount to your fingertips. A little goes a long way, so no need to overdo it and I KNOW it can be tempting. Massage the jelly into your scalp with the pads of your fingers (or even better, with a battery-operated scalp massager) for 2-3 minutes, 3-4 times per week. You massage the scalp each day, even when not using oil. You may also apply some of the jelly to your hair if you like.
After applying, you may gently brush hair from scalp to ends of hair to distribute the product evenly throughout your hair. You may also use this as a hot oil treatment before washing it out. If you have drier hair (as found in most African types of hair), you may leave this in, but it is recommended that you wash your hair/scalp at least once a week.
A four-ounce jar should last about 1-3 months depending on the amount used and how often it is used. You may also use this as a hot oil treatment to help condition your hair, especially your ends, which tend to be the driest part of hair.
WARNING: *This product is not for use by women who are pregnant or nursing. It is also not for those who are prone to headaches/migraines; should take caution as the act of massaging the oil on the scalp may lead to some discomfort.
Q: Is there any mineral oil in this formula?
A: We do not add mineral oil to this formula.
Q: How long will it take to work?
A: As much as we know, people want to see a definitive answer on this, the truth is it is impossible to predict. It really depends greatly on the present condition of your hair, your diet/vitamin regimen, any health conditions you may have, your hair care regimen, and whether you use any chemical or heat processes on your hair. No honest seller will make a specific claim because since everyone is different and treats their hair differently, it would be impossible to determine specific results. For example, one customer may use this product and also treat their hair well (no heat or chemicals, taking the time to detangle properly and use "protective" styling methods) and gain 6-8 inches in a year. Another customer may use a flat iron frequently or a relaxer and end up experiencing damage and breakage, resulting in only 3-4 inches gained in one year. It isn't that the hair did not grow, but it broke off just as fast as it grew.
*All jars contain 2 or 4 ounces as ordered though not filled to the top. The correct amount of ounces is about where the indented part of the top of the jar meets the rest of the jar wall.
