CHEBE HAIR JELLY
A rich, concentrated botanical hair jelly made with Chebe, castor oil and peppermint essential oil.
Our Chebe Hair Jelly combines a traditional African botanical ingredient with a thick castor-based hairdressing for customers who prefer a richer, non-drip alternative to liquid hair oils.
The formula has a thick, emollient consistency similar to a traditional hair salve or hair grease, making it easy to apply exactly where you want it without the runniness of a liquid oil.

ABOUT CHEBE
Chebe is a traditional botanical hair-care preparation associated particularly with women in Chad, Africa.
It has a long history of use in Chadian hair-care and styling practices, particularly routines involving coating, braiding and caring for the lengths of the hair.
Our Chebe is imported from Chad through Miss Sahel.
Because Chebe is a traditional botanical mixture rather than a single powdered plant, it contains several ingredients that contribute to its distinctive color, texture and naturally smoky aroma.
THICK, NON-DRIP FORMULA
If you enjoy botanical hair oils but don’t love the dripping and runniness that can come with liquid oils, this jelly offers another option.
The castor-based formula has a thick, coating texture similar to a salve, pomade or traditional hair grease.
A little goes a long way, so we recommend starting with a small amount and adding more only when needed.
PLEASE NOTE FOR LOW-POROSITY HAIR
This is a rich, heavy and coating formula.
Because of its thick texture and castor-based composition, it may feel too heavy for some low-porosity or easily weighed-down hair types.
If your hair generally prefers lightweight products, one of our lighter botanical oils or water-based products may be a better fit.
HOW TO USE
Start with approximately a dime-sized amount.
Warm the jelly between your fingertips or palms and distribute a small amount through the hair as desired.
It may be used on the lengths and ends, during protective styling, or anywhere you normally incorporate a rich hairdressing or botanical oil into your routine.
Begin with less than you think you need. Add more gradually according to your hair’s length, density, texture and preference.

MELT WARNING
This is a semi-solid botanical hair jelly.
Hair jellies, salves, hairdressings and similar semi-solid products may soften or melt when exposed to warm temperatures, particularly during shipping or when left outdoors, in a mailbox or inside a hot vehicle.
Melting does not necessarily mean the product is unusable, but the original texture may change.
If your product arrives softened or melted, place the tightly closed container in a cool location or refrigerate it briefly until it firms again.
During warm weather, we recommend retrieving packages promptly rather than allowing them to remain outside for an extended period.
